Who can tell me the correct placement and type of spark plug wire brackets on a 1968 4 speed 400 Firebird engine? I know the driver side rear intake looks like this:
As for the passenger side, I am missing the rear intake wire loom, but have a picture of one here that I believe is correct. The question is, does the bracket attach to the intake like the first picture or to the distributor vacuum valve like the second picture.
For the driver side 4 and 2 wire brackets, do they attach to the block or to the valve cover bolts? I have seen them both ways. In the inlinetube catalog (who repos them), they show them attached to the valve cover bolts. I cannot post that here as it is a word document. Appreciate your input!

Like your First photo. It gets bolted to the intake.

They get bolted to the Head on the Driver side, just below valve cover. The front passangers is the only one that gets bolted to the valve cover.

So another couple question. First, what is this bracket on the front of the engine block (first picture)? The restorer put it here, but it was not there on my original pictures. Anyone know where it is supposed to go?
Second, here are my current passenger side wire loom brackets. They seem to have a "bend" to them. Do the repos have a bend to them too? And guessing the one for the front that is supposed to go over the valve cover guide is not right for that location? Is that the one for the driver side?
I can not really tell if the front one is correct from that angle. The attached picture I attached, the passenger front is the far left one.
They should not have bends like those. I would say someone bent them out to put on or take off the wires because it is almost impossible to do with out removing the bolt to the retainer. So someone just bent it out to gain access to the wires.
That bracket on the first picture, looks like a bracket that was under my oil filter housing on the block I removed. I asked someone about it and they thought it had to do with a bracket that held a cable or somthing for a automatic transmission. The block someone had added was coded for a automatic.
100% agree with that bracket being the same. Not sure what a Heat Control Valve Bracket is or does, but I have already removed it from it's current non-correct location and will place it into the correct position later.
Glad you have original spark wire brackets. After looking over the configuration, I am missing every one of them on the passenger side of the engine. The brackets that where on the pass side were actually supposed to be on the driver side, so I have switched those around too. Now to order the ones for the passenger side.
I picked up a set of '68 brackets from him last spring for my coupe. They were nice.
I used to be indecisive. Now I'm not sure. Some of these seems to be a little rough. How do you "re-dip" them? Anyone know who can do that? Was thinking about buying the repos individually from inline tube for $36.
So Harold, if you bought the repops, what did you do with the originals that you showed me pictures of? Or where those not your pictures? Also, do the heads of the bolts used to attach the wire loom brackets to the head get painted engine color or do they remain steel color?
