You will need a mild solvant to remove all dirt, oils, grease and other contaminants that will prevent adhesion: Pre Paint Prep Then there are adhesion promoters; the one I used was call Plastic Prep. Plastic Prep or: Adhesion Promoter Last, you will want what they call a interior or vinyl dye for the color.

Ames should sell the goodies you need. I know because I have the ivy gold/ gold interior and a lot of stuff only comes in black.......

I clean mine with mineral spirits and use Krylon plastic paint. I've never had any issues and they look great.
