Sandblast it then primer let it sit for 2 days sandblast again but with less power and then paint for a long long time duration of paint?????any toughts have u done or how did u or body shop do it on ur car?
sounds like something that might be used in a large industrial setting like large steel tanks or a steel hulled workboat. The second sandblasting being to lightly abrade the surface for mechanical adhesion of the paint. It is not something that should be considered on the outside of a car body that has to look nice.
The outside of your car should be either soda blasted or chemically stripped or rasorbladed down as far as you can go and then sanded to metal. sandblasting does too much damage to do an entire car body. Then follow your paint manafacturers instructions.
I had a buddy sandblast his, he said to stand back about 10 feet so you don't warp the panel with the sand, I say sandpaper is cheap and gives quality time with the car

I'd say chances are you will never get all the sand out before you paint. Can you imagine, paint's going on fine flowing just right and all of a sudden you hit a lit hidden pocket of sand and it blow all over half the car. Now what do you do??? Cry/start throwing things/go kill the guy that told you to sandblast? All of the above?
The body shop blasted the back window area when they installed the body panel below it. I had sand in my trunk floor for years after.
