This is my first post and this may be a common known answer amongst firebird enthusiasts BUT, I am new to the Firebird world as of last summer.

I've acquired one original 69 400 car with ram air 4speed never restored, I found under an apple tree and have the original power train which was put in another firebird that I also acquired. Which put me onto this 3rd car

The 3rd car is a 68 coupe, Carnival Red vinyl top, 4speed hood tac, 13,000 mile car. Here's the kicker, the body tag has been taken and I can't locate the VIN on the dash. This car is stripped and tossed in a pile (someone didn't want it found) what my question is.... Is there a vin stamped anywhere else on the car?? Like frame rails core support etc??? Any info identifying this would be great!! PS: I believe I've located the original motor to the car, I just haven't put my hands on it yet..

Thank you,
Fred

There are a couple of places on the firewall and cowl where the partial last 8 numbers are. One area is behind the heater box and the other on top under the cowl vent panel.

Use a wiper tool to take the wipers off. Remove the four small bolts under the hood. Slide the cowl out from under the windshield trim. On the passenger side there will be the last digits of the VIN.

The picture is most likely after the fact.

Did you used to watch this show, Frankenstein’s (Stacey’s Country Jamboree) filmed live in Milbridge? I’m a hard-rock/metal/hair-band dude, with a nip of late 50’s early 60’s country. You couldn’t have paid me to miss it because much of it was lyaolamf; in fact, I scheduled dates around the show, or depending on who she was, invite her over to watch. (Gotta’ protect that metal-man reputation, dont’cha know.) This is just a bunch of snippets, so it’s hard for people to really ‘appreciate’ the show. Youtube use to have multiple, full videos of some of the ‘regulars,’ a couple of years ago, but they took them off, or I cannot find them.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=s0fOx3hKMQ0

I don’t know much about out west, but I know the coastline of Knox, Wado, Hancock, and southern Washington counties like the back of my hand. I was planning to drive my 9 down to the Owl’s Head Transpo show (it was a free show) because I would have killed 3 birds, two 55 gallon drums of gas, and a show with one stone. But I would have driven through 500-miles of torrential rain. The upside was that the weather cooperated, so I did drive it to the Pontiac Nationals at Norwalk, OH.

Do you have any pictures of your cars? Some are big fans of concourse restorations. But there are a lot of people here who worship derelict, pos cars. We also do fenders, hoods, doors, starters, broken fan-belts, wound-off lug nuts, whatever. In other words, lots of us would as soon see pictures of total basket cases, so don’t be shy if you think your cars may have ‘issues.’ If you posted a 1000-picture, photo album of a dilapidated rust bucket, you can rest assured that many members will spend hours poring over them.

Car porn:

1: After the fact.

2: I paid $150 for her, and it’s an old photo, taken in 1985. It’s the most coveted in my picture collection because I thought she was the most gorgeous thing I had ever seen. But the apartment complex didn’t agree because they wouldn’t let me park it on the parking lot.

3: Bullet holes are always popular; anything that documents the car’s history; for instance, it takes a mundane, documented Texas car to a higher level.

4: You can also make people jealous by showing off your high-end facility with its latest-and-greatest assortment of tools.

5: Hard-core, car-porn. Close-up, spread-eagle shots, will earn lots of brownie points. I didn’t want to get the boys too wound up, so I’ll just post one up-skirt shot. I have over 500 photos of these hard-core close-ups, for private viewing.

As you can see, the old gray mare ain’t what she used to be. I finished making her second dress, in my garage, in June. You can still see the overspray on the floor.

Actually it was her fourth dress, but the first two dresses don’t count: the first was rattle can so I was allowed to park it in front of my apartment. The second was scrap paint blown over to seal the primer from the elements. She wore the third dress from ’87 until late ’11, and it was still in decent shape. She wanted a different color dress, something about it not being the right color, so this is her fourth.

I’m the first to admit that there’s no comparison in the before/after, but what the hell do you expect for $300?

Really?? I'm a native to Hancock Town, and have skowered the state for years. If you're from Maine and have old cars, I've probably seen them. A guy down Harrington way had a 69 firebird by the name of John Colure??

Email me, I can send you some pics of my field and woods finds

I live in Linthicum MD. 1 mile south of the Baltimore city line, and 1/2 mile north of BWI airport. A big population clusterphuch! My mother was born, and raised in Rockport. Her father was born in South Thomaston. My father was from Corea, born and raised on Crowley Island, as was the three generations before him.

I spent my school-year summers playing summer complaint in Rockport and Corea. I love the area, but the winters are too brutal for me. That yankee blood gets thin pretty quick with some southern exposure.

I have relatives in Rockland, Camden, Warren, Winthrop, Corea, Milbrige, Cherryfeild, and Addision.

Back in the mid to late 70's I use to go to the Unity sock car races, as a spectaor, an oval track. Is it still there?

I found it interesting that they displayed the Confederate/Rebel flag during their shows.

Fred what were the VINs that you found? Undercover any mysteries about the car?

My Girlfriends daughter and boyfriend fish out of Corea. I raced stock cars at Unity as recently as last year, it's half open if you know what I mean.. I'm headed now to extract the 68 carnival red hood tac ram air standard car from its resting place for the last 40 plus years!!! Google maine weather, it's a 40 degree monsoon right now, but my last chance before it freezes in. I will post bins once I get the PHS on the car. Tried loading pics to no avail. I guess I just got lucky to find these and apparently there's an original first Gen Bird in the area with almost no miles in a barn I will be checking out too. I will keep everyone posted on my finds, later today..

Got the bird home, taking a few pics today. Got the vins, thanks to you guys here and sent in for the PHS already. Now I anxiously await!... I know it's at least a carnival red 68 400 standard car. I guess I will find out if its the elusive ram air or not

I want to get cars on the lift in order to take better pics. I took some recovery ones, but want to keep the nay Sayers to a minimum until I have some good thorough pictures of the cars condition from underneath. Hope to have the PHS by the end of the week. One of the motors does have the ram air base on the carburetor.
