my 69 birds' inst. cluster has some broken "wires" leading to the fuel gauge and some of the in dash lights. I was thinking of soldering the holes as the new sheet is $90. Anyone have any luck with such an endeavor?

it's a fairly thin circuit track, soldering may just burn through, but i guess you may as well try it.

Try rear defroster grid repair kit.

I had good luck repairing several of these breaks by soldering in one strand of copper wire from a 12 gauge twisted stranded cable. Make sure to use plenty of flux to ensure a good solder connection. Did this over a year ago and no recurring problems to this day. knock on wood.

As a tip I always use a little dielectric grease on connector to keep from tearing the traces off.

i managed to find a complete instrument cluster on ebay for cheap. Im gonna use the circuits from it to finish the job. if anyone needs an instrument cluster minus the circuit sheet let me know.
