Pulled the engine and just starting to detail the engine compartment of my 68 OHC. What was the original color of the steering box (power steering)? This one appears to have been lightly painted silver at one time. I suspect that it was originally more like a bare iron appearance.

I used Martin senour Iron Cast, I have to say it is the closest paint if not an exact match to natural cast iron color. I picked it up at Napa, Very happy !!!!

Have seen positive comments about the Martin Senour paint on other car sites. Will check it out. Thanks maxepr.

I've used Seymour cast blast and Eastwood's spray grey with good results.

For the dull aluminum finish Seymour alumi blast does well.
