what is the correct codes for 69 firebirds and trans ams? i saw a ebay auction and 14" rims stamped jk the guy says there one year only..mine i think i have two ja's and two jc's my car was originaly drum but i have disc of another 69 bird....which rims are correct?
if you have your PHS you will find on the car invoice a code 454 WHLS-RALLY 2 if the car came equipped with Rally wheels from the factory. This won't tell you which Rally wheels.
The Firebird 400 came stock with F70-14 Wide Ovals, which fit the 14 x 7 wheel. The 250 Sprint, 350 2 bbl, and 350 HO also came with these tires, and should have come with the 14 x 7 as well. Only the 250 1 bbl should have come with 14 x 6 in 1969, and cars ordered with snow chains (code 522 for 6" wheels)

Not necessarily. If you've upgraded to front disc, get 4 14 x 6 disc brake rims and you can be correct, and will be able to rotate your tires. Just be sure to get the trim rings that match your wheel; trims for 14 x 7 are deeper than trims for 14 x 6.
I cannot find anything that says that all F70-14 equipped cars came with 7" rims. It is possible that only V-8 cars were fitted with 7" rims, or perhaps just 400 equipped cars and HO cars...there is a lot of missing information here.
Parts index provides the following: JD 67-68 A, F 14 x 6 Rally 2 with DB JA, JT, KT 67-68 A, F 14 x 6 Rally 2 except DB KV, JO 68 Firebird 14 x 6 Rally 2 except DB KV, JO 69 Firebird 14 x 6 Rally 2 all KS 69 Firebird V-8 14 x 7 Rally 2
As usual, the numbers don't match or make sense. Why is one code listed as drum brake only one year, and disc brake the next? The parts index was written in 1973, and only the currently available replacement parts are listed. Many codes don't even appear here.
Vikki, What answered the F70x14 on both 6" & 7" was your discussion of them on the 7" RallyIIs. The F70x14 was standard on several models in '68 using the 6" code HK steel wheel. Jim
