I do not know most of you and I would not normally go on a public forum and put my families issues out on the internet but we need as many prayers as we can possibly get, so I am turning to as many people as I can. This forum has offered great advise for me in the past so I thought I would ask for something that would mean more to us than any material thing.
Our family received some devastating news back in August. My 22yo daughter has been diagnosed with Non-Hodgkins Lymphoma, a form of blood cancer. She was forced to withdraw from her senior year of college to seek treatment. She was required to spend four weeks at the University of Pennsylvania. Unfortunately during her second week of treatment she suffered bleeding and was rushed to the ER for brain surgery to evacuate the bleeding and find the source of a stroke. Two days later they were forced to do a second surgery and remove a large section of her left skull due to excessive swelling and a shift of the brain from center.
Since that day, she has been slowly recovering from the effects of the stroke while still receiving chemotherapy. Her speech, motor skills, and eye sight have all been affected in addition to the side effects of the chemo. Her treatment plan will span two and a half years with the goal of being cured. So I ask at this special time of giving to say a prayer for Amber in hopes that she will soon have her life back to normal. I also ask that you keep everyone suffering from this horrible disease in your prayers. We have met some amazing people.
Merry Christmas, Happy New Year and God Bless you and your families this and every year.
So sorry to hear this, couldn't imagine if it was my daughter how I'd feel, I will say a prayer for her and I really truly hope she recovers. I have a 20 year old daughter myself. Is there an address we can send a card?

Wow, that's truly aweful. I can't even imagine the way that turns lives upside down. Nobody deserves something like that. I'm not much of a religious type but we will send good thoughts her way and hope beyond hope that things turn out alright. Please tell her that there are people out there that don't even know her that are pulling for her to get better.
Ed, our entire family will keep her in our prayers. So sorry to hear this. I pray her healing goes as planned. God has this under control and will see your family through this dark time. Better days are ahead.

More prayers. God bless you, your daughter, and your family.
James 5:15-16 "15 And the prayer offered in faith will make the sick person well; the Lord will raise them up. If they have sinned, they will be forgiven. 16 Therefore confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous person is powerful and effective."
Our thoughts and prayers are with you at this very difficult time for you and your daughter, Amber. We are sending her prayers continuously in order get through all her treatments surgery and ultimate healing.
I personally believe strongly in the power of prayer as my brother (Denise's) was diagnosed in 2012 with this and given under a year to live. He went through hell and back with the Chemo and we nearly lost him last year at this time when his fever spiked to 109F.
His bone marrow has been tested and he is now cancer free.
Please let us know if there is anything else we can do for your family and let Amber know she is so very courageous.
Thanks guys, It means a lot. As one could expect Amber's emotions are all over the place and we are worried about depression. She walked into the doctor's office and five days later she was in a hospital bed. She has been nothing but a healthy kid. Never smoked, has maybe a drink when she goes out and just a sweetheart.
I appreciate all the kind words and it is comforting to know that there are many people helping Amber through prayer. Jerry, thank you for the request for an address. I posted on this board because I know what kind of people I have dealt with in the past and knew they would support us, but as the post says we want nothing but prayers. I thank you just the same.
This Christmas Day and every day give your children and family members a hug and tell them how much they mean to you. Life can change so quickly. God Bless.
