Welcome! Another MN member! Tough carb to find, I've seen a few out there from time to time. Looks like its going to be a long winter to look though... Another member here, Pete67 I believe, lives in your back yard. Looks like you have a '68? Tell us some more about it.
I used to be indecisive. Now I'm not sure. Sure, here goes. '68 400 4 spd, numbers matching (except intake and carb). 78,000 actual miles, sat in storage last 15 years. Verdoro Green (for now, ish) Black vinyl top, removed sometime in the past. Originally purchased for a high school student who proceeded to acquire speeding tickets and run into things, including another student I'm told! The student went away for awhile, either Vietnam or prison. Somewhere along the way the usual aftermarket parts were added, MSD, short throw Hurst, Edelbrock and Holly, traction bars, headers, all of which will be restored. Some rust but a really nice piece to start with. It has been 19 years since my last Firebird ('69), and will be a father/son project. The time I've spent so far in and under it has been therapy for me, brings back fond memories. (or maybe I just need therapy) You all know what I'm talking about! Good to be here, Terry

yep, same story, different name. Let me guess, are you a few years either side of 50?

too funny! 51.5 here as well. Hoping to get a group picture of a dozen 'birds together from the TC this summer. Have to think warm thoughts when its -15 degrees outside.

Dang. So many from MN! Why is that? I'm lucky to see one Firebird at a car show here in So Cal! I have in-laws in MN. I noticed a lot of classics there during the Summer last time i was there.

Another reason to drive up for a hood swap!
Buffalo's Classics by the Lake show last summer had over 600 cars. All parked in one area. Food, music, and old cars, all in mint condition. Had a half dozen first gen 'birds too.

Ha. If I wasn't married, I'm crazy enough to drive up and swap hoods.
Hey, a few things that stand out to me about MN from recent visits:
My wife and I were the loudest fans at the Twins game (sober too). The mall! Holy crap...a man's worst nightmare. Houses by the Mississippi were awesome. The motorcade for my mother-in-laws funeral was led by a woman, all by herself. She did a better job than 15 men on motorcycles here in So Cal! 4th of July was amazing with the fireworks reflecting off the water and the buildings! Everyone standing on the bridges watching. I think that was in Minneapolis. Super cool!

I still plan on coming up this summer to see the fleet, and taking in that show would be a plus!
Cant wait for summer... 68HO4004spvert Sleddog Iowa
God Bless the men and women past and present that have served this country. Thank you. Support D.A.V. - it helps gives a life back to those who gave so much for us.....

Probably because we have 6 months of winter to work on them. But seriously why would you want to live anywhere else.
We have 5 first gens in our family, everyone in my family has one, except my old man he is greedy and 3 even though he claims one is my moms.
