I did a disc brake swap on my 68 firebird from parts off a 67 firebird. The master cylibder that was in the car was new however I wanted to paint so I dump all the fluid that was in it. after I painted it I installed it in the car and then bled the entire system for air. My question is this should I have bench bled the master cylinder first before installing it in the car? Or was what I did ok? I haven't ran the car yet because I replacing the water pump. I just wanted to make sure. thanks guys
you should bench bleed first. if the master is level while on the car, you can bleed it on the car, but if it is at an angle at all, it can trap a bubble. if you have a good pedal, you are OK.
Since it's already installed, you can put a level on the reservoir cap and jack up the low end of the car just beyond level. That'll let the bubble out through the filling hole.
