The brake drumb spindle could be used if the top boss was machined down. Also looking at A-body spindles look the same when I compared them. You will need to re-use the brake drum arms.
I piece mine out and I don't think I saved much money when compared to a kit like this from ebay.
Aaack!! What happened to the FAQ section of this site? There used to be a link about disc brake conversions over there that was PAGES and PAGES long of detailed information about doing this conversion, donor cars, detailed instructions, etc. I referred to that page often when people asked this question. Now it appears there was a rebuild and I can't find the brake info anymore. Am I missing it? There IS a bunch of other valuable info still but the treasure box of brake info appears to have evaporated: https://firstgenfirebird.org/f-a-q/
Found it! And also found info that this entire website is mid-update right now, and that's why I am confused...FAQ is sort of hanging in limbo at the moment but there is still access to the old stuff.
Also, many of us have just purchased new conversion kits from these guys for reasonable money and generally good results: http://www.getdiscbrakes.com/
The dust shield in some of these kits is stamped wrong. You have to trim the slot that's stamped out for the lower control arm or it rubs. Also should trial fit the wheel bearings on the spindles, I had to sandpaper the spindles for the bearings to fit on one of these kits.
I looked into getting donor parts. And NPD has a company that has basic drum to disc setup parts. And I routed the lines and distribution block(not proportioning valve) and it looks pretty slick and close to a stock looking application. The cost was just a little over what a junk yard would want for used parts.

I'm not sure about vette brakes. When I did my research I didn't come across anything that said you could use vette parts. But I was looking in just a swap with no additional modifications.
