I have a 68 Firebird with a 350 bored .030 over #17 72cc heads, so should be around 9:1 compression. Performer Intake Edel 600cfm carb SpeedPro 1038cam advertised at RPM range 1500-4000 Adv Dur. Int/Exh: 278/288 Dur @ .050 Int/Exh: 204/214 Lobe Sep. 110 Valve Lift Int/Exh: 420/443 Dougs Longtubes, 2 1/2 pipes with flowmaster 2 chambers TH350 with 2000 stall (advertised at 2700 but stalls to 2000 on the foot brake) Not positive on gears but think they are 3.23 based on RPM calculators
I'm really wanting to wake up this motor and make it more fun on the street. Right now it's kind of a dog to be honest. I was thinking of switching to 3.73 gears (long term plan is to switch to a 5speed so I think this gear would be great for both) XE268 cam and Performer RPM intake with 1.5 roller tip rockers.
I am new to Ponchos and have learned to ask those who have been there rather than going through the trials and errors of bad parts combinations.
Look up the specs for a 350 HO motor and copy that as close as you can. Pont engineers did a lot of testing back in the day and you may as well use their expertise and experience with what worked/works.
