I plan on buying a new 400 hood. After looking on line I found many different manufactures of the 400 hood. Not a big surprise. I assume they are all from the same stamping but sold to different companies. I stumbled across a website that had four different options for the 400 hood. http://www.restorationperformance.com/servlet/StoreFront The four brands were Goodmark,Dynacorn,AMD, and OER. After talking to a rep he commented that they sold more of the Dynacorn hoods and had good luck with them. He also commented that more than likely they were all made at the same place, but was not positive. The price varied from $365.95-343.92-306.95-269.96.
Has anyone bought an aftermarket hood lately? And if so do you remember what brand it was and how it fit? Thanks Rob
Also was under the impression all the aftermarket hoods are stamped in the same place.
One important item is ALL the aftermarket hoods only work with the '68/69 style hood latch.
If installed on a '67, the hood latch needs to be changed out.

Actually I have come across at least one repop mfr. that is making only '67 400 hoods. So just to confuse the matter, you need to be careful. I was not able to track down which one though. You need to look at the reciever openings before buying.

I need another, so if you really have one, we need to talk...

Just for information sake (fingers crossed that I never need one!) - which manufacturer?

Like I mentioned above, I was not able to track that down. Couple of Owners said "Oh, I bought it on Epay", and that's all they could remember. But they were definetly '67 style 400 hoods and were repops. I think I have come across three of them now. I also thought they only made '68-'69 versions until I saw those.
And for sure NONE of the repop hoods fit well without a TON of work. Also OEM hood scoops only work with and OEM hood, and repops only fit repops. So more to consider...
