My body shop guy has told me I will need to replace the RH front fender on my 68, due to excessive rust. Other side is fine. I'm going to purchase a panel and drop ship it. Checking Classic Industries, they have a $249 panel and also one that they say is OER and from GM molds, made in USA - price is around $800 (ouch). I'm guessing the cheaper panel must be made in China. Is there really that much difference? Is the sheet metal a higher gauge? I know this is an investment - is it worth it?
No difference. I used the so called GM 'replacements'. Were no better than Goodmark or Dynacorn.
I work with a dealer for Dynacorn. PM me if you want his contact info. Better service and pricing than the major repop suppliers.

I recently bought a LH quarter panel from Tamraz for a 69 Trans Am restoration. We already had a GM NOS RH quarter and tailpan. The fit on the restoration quarter was awful to say the least. I sent pictures to Tamraz showing both sides, weeks later I'm still waiting for an answer from them. I finally bought another quarter from OER, which fit perfectly. My suggestion, spend the money and buy a good quality part. I will never buy from Tamraz again.
Yes, there is always a reason Tamraz has lower prices...
I highly doubt you will get a response from them.
But let us know if you do.

Ok, Here's an update on the Tamraz situation. I got a call from them today, they have agreed to credit me $402 towards the purchase of any of their products. They don't even want the quarter panel back. My main problem with all of this is that it took over a month and over 30 phone calls to resolve the problem.
Quite a while ago, I ordered a couple of parts from Tamraz.
When I opened the box, I found everything wrapped in newspaper - something that even I don't do anymore as I have acquired a nice stash of recycled packing peanuts over time. Anyway, the newspaper pretty much told me they were definitely NOT a high class operation.
