The above thread details the mounting hole locations for the glovebox emblem. The door in the picture is on a red background, but you can't see red through the mounting holes. This means the top mounting hole doesn't go all the way through the door.
My question is how the heck do you screw on the capture nut to hold the emblem on?
Originals used a push-tension insert. (similar to what was used for the rear gill trim) on most '67-'68's.

what I did on mine as I bought the emblem , installed on new glove box door...drilled a hole for the larger , upper pin, then cut off the second pin added a dab of silicone to hold in place whaile hanging from the upper....has worked for 13 years
3M makes an adhesive for modern glued-on emblems. Naturally it's called 3M Emblem Adhesive. I always have some on hand.

I guess the consensus is using silicone sealer to attach the emblem. This does seem to be an easy as well as a good solution. I think this is the road I'll travel.
