The motor is ugly. Was told it ran before they pulled it out. My buddies cousin owns it. He said $450. I was going to offer $400 Is that worth? I rebuilt my 326 about 500 miles ago and was thinking off bagging it and put more power in my 67 bird. Thanks.
Probable need more information like the casting numbers and dates from the block and heads to determine compression and HP rating. It has a Chevy carb and the later 11 bolt water pump.
I would be more concerned about what is going on inside the motor then how it looks outside. With it out you can't do a proper compression test. Looks like a non Pontiac q-jet on top?
Has it ever been rebuilt? Was it bored? Was the crank turned? Cast piston and rods? 557 casting block? how many reliefes in the piston? What cam is in it? How many miles does it have?
If its not a 557 block and never rebuilt it would still make a good foundation for a rebuild in the future if the price is right. I think I would only pay 300 or less since its yellow:)
looks spray painted in place...wires etc...but someone used the same color as mine had when I bought it...you wonder why that color!!...maybe to not need an under hood light! LOL
