Have to bleed the brakes and re-install the seat belts, get it inspected. Then I need to get comfortable with it and see how it's doing after sitting for so long. It's mainly laziness that's in the way

Have the car mostly buffed...started putting stuff back on, starting to look nice with a little trim on it. Repainted the front grills, look ok.

Been awhile since last update. Just have a couple emblems and front windshield trim left to install. Learned how to blend from guy from Sherwin Williams, will post before/after pics, but here are a few pics after bringing car home from work today. Restoration Progress

I got some very valuable lessons this weekend from Ted with Sherwin Williams. Ted has 30 years experience painting high end cars mostly out in California. After doing the BC/CC, I got a little aggressive with the sanding and went thru the clear and the base and was left with primer showing around the RT front fender. Ted came by and showed me how to fix it without having to shoot the whole fender. Basically, you shoot 2 very light coats of color, and 1 light clear, then a little heavier coat of clear and "feather" out with the gun. Within seconds of the 2nd coat of clear, very lightly spray what they call a blender right along the area of the new clear and old clear. The blender is nothing more than very hot reducer that melts" the existing clear into the new clear. Let dry, sand with 2000/3000, buff out lightly, results as shown. Ted said this is not an easy task to do or learn, but came pretty easy for me. He said for a 1st time, garage paint job, this car came out real nice, made me feel pretty good coming from him. I still beat myself up for the little sand mark here, there...ect, he told me to shut up and be proud of it...starting to feel pretty good about it now. Thanx to everyone for following this thread and all the great advice and comments. The last of the trim/weather stripping should be here soon, will final pics soon, Kel
