have a delco remy HEI distributor - one of those large body type installed couple of years ago....only problem was that it would not fit with the edelbrock dual plane manifold that was on the motor, so used a torker manifold that the mechanic happened to have in the workshop at the time.... I knew it was not a good idea, so time to make the change..have a 600 vac sec holley on top.... do I go back to the original cast iron manifold with a quadrajet, keep the holley and get a dual manifold that fits???? any suggestions very welcome....
The stock Pontiac intake is better performing than most aluminum intakes. I also prefer the QJet over anything else. The only disadvantage is the weight.

yeah same thought here - kinda get sucked in by all the hype - aftermarket this and aftermarket that - when really, these cars were muscle cars from the showroom with the stock manifold and quadrajet.... I would say the dizzy should fit easy enough - I did have a rusted out stock manifold that I compared the dizzy to and it seemed to be ok to fit...
I don't see why the HEI would not fit, I have one on mine with the performer RPM and no prob., also had the performer with the HEI and no prob. there as well.
I couldn't fit a GM HEI dizzy on mine, either. Not enough clearance...hit the firewall. Probably has more to do with subframe positioning than anything else.

Had/have no prob on a 67 and 2 different 68's with a stock, Torker 2, and RPM intake. Q-jet also my 1st choice on anything under 600 HP. Maybe 700, but haven't got that far yet...
The last 67 I put together, the alignment holes on the body and sub frame were perfect. You can just barely get an HEI in and it is right against the fire wall. No way to turn it. Only way to get it to clear would be to use a BFH and beat in the firewall. But that's not my style.
