...am I missing something here? How does the tire mount with the hooked bolt? The anchor for the bolt is way on the right side, how/where does it go thru the wheel?
looks like that mount in the trunk was for a space saver.....the mounting places for std spare and space saver were different.
when I got my car I had no attachment point at all, as trunk pan had been replaced..I had a std spare , bouncing around back there, but bought a space saver tire and had Rolf weld in that 'hook' for my tire ,based on ifo from others here ,where it went.....maybe next week check out HALFers spares and mounting placement....you can always get an extra and weld in at different spot ,or move this , or get a space saver
Ok, that makes sense, I guess they put the attachment point according to if it had a space saver vs full size spare. I'll make or buy a new loop to hook to, thanx Bjorn,,,see y'all nest weekend!!
Yes, close. There is a second hook mounted half way up the slope on the left that holds the jack assembly at that location.
