Hello all; Well, the car finally is running and passed inspection today I replaced the front turn signal sockets, redid grounds, did a bunch clean-up...I'd say she's about 95% done. I am still having issues with the StayFast top I ordered with the one piece glass in the rear. It does not sit all the way down in the well when top down. The upholstery shop said he'd call the manufacturer, and see about adjusting it. But I'm not happy, and if it's not corrected, I'm going to see about getting my money back and getting a different top. I've been so-so with the upholstery shop....
But, in other news...the engine in my ride is really starting to leak more at the crankshaft seal, so it's time to swap the 350 I picked up for it. 4k on the rebuild. I've shot Marvel Mystery oil in the cylinders and spun by hand when it got home. I'm going to do it again prior to swap. But here's my questions:
1. Pull engine only, or engine and trans? 2. My intent is to remove hood, remove radiator, engine fan, and undo power steering pump and set aside. No A/C (yet), so dont have that headache. Undo trans lines of course, oil pressure sender line, fuel lines from fuel pump. Trans bolts from trans bell, and then the torque convertor bolts. Engine mounts...undo headers...then pull. Sound right? I have one of those adapter plates for the pull, that sits where the carb goes.
I'm figuring one evening to undo everything and prep. Next evening, pull the motor, then swap in the other motor. Third evening to re-connect everything.
Any tips would be GREATLY appreciated! I'd love to start this this week since it wont be hot yet, and my wife will be gone most of the week
