Mate gave me a stock cast iron 4bbl manifold to put on my 68 firebird - 350 motor (YJ - originally 2bbl)
the number of manifold is GMB 9799068 - have done some research and it looks like it's from a 1970 GTO, maybe Ram111
I think these are not a good match??? something about a gap somewhere??

also found a 67 4bbl from a GTO 400 so should work well with the manifold - what do you think?/

i know they are identical manifolds which only have different part numbers

i take that back - they are not identical

the 67 is an inferior choice because it requires a stainless steel shim gasket between the carb and the manifold

use the 1970 mainfold instead

I don't have a 67 manifold - I have the 70 gto manifold and a 67 gto carby - so I think that's a great combo...

Actually 67 Qjets are not as desireable as 68 and up, if you want to keep it, it should be ok, maybe a little rich but should run ok

It was about time someone made mention. The next thing you know, someone will say that ’75 + quads are superior. Of course they are if you are selling modifications!

Nothing wrong with modifications. I look at it like if it makes it better the original designers would've done it(as long as it was cost effective). Sometimes it's just a flat out safety issue. Nothing wrong with a safer vehicle if you plan to spend any time in the seat.
