Does anyone make a large Burlwood over lay for the 69 Automatic Center Console. My door has peeled and a replacement door comes in a darker color and doesn't match at all. Mine has obviously faded.
I thought I remembered someone having one of these but can't seem to find it.
Never mind, Ames Performance has them. They said I should have searched under Elmwood Burl. New one to me, I have only heard them referenced under Burlwood.
Keep in mind that none of the repops are even close to original burlwood. (shade and pattern)
You may be further ahead looking for a used door with better original burlwood on it.
I used to be indecisive. Now I'm not sure. Mine is a coupe so the light that reaches inside is not as much as a vert with the top down. I did the dash overlay(69) and the console is orig. I've never had anyone comment about the color difference. If they were right next to each other it might be different but because it's separate it really isn't noticeable. The only one that ever might notice is someone looking to cover their own and is looking to see what somebody else had done.
