Just picked up a 67 WZ short block. Has wrong heads but block is a WZ stamp. February 67 casting. Asking 1500 or best offer. Will ship and help with getting it to the terminal. Email or call/text Raiiita@yahoo.com 559-321-4096 Eric
Just got the word from the machine shop. Block has been cleaned and magged. Crack free and a good solid foundation for a rebuild. Pics available please email or call/text
I saw the price on the WZ block. Being somewhat new to the purchase of Pontiac blocks, is this what a WZ is worth?
I have a 68 YT 400 block with #16 heads that I am getting built up for my 50th birthday. Is this a valuable block as well? I bought it with the heads, crank, pistons, rods, well, most everything for around $450 about 3-4 years ago. It was magnafluxed with no cracks as well.
Have they gone up in price lately?
I ask not to dispute your price, but to gauge what my parts are worth.

All depends on your purpose. I would love to have that YT block as I have two '68 Firebirds and neither have their original drivetrains. The $1,500 might make sense if someone was doing a concours restoration of a a '67 400 manual Firebird, to anyone other than that probably not.
'68 YT blocks are difficult to find, getting for $450 was a good buy.

My 67 Convertible originally had a YT 400 in it and for years I was looking for a 67 YT because I want to get it back to as original as possible. I just happened to find one off of this site a few years ago, although a 68, it is as close as I have come for the correct one for the car.
I have the original TH400 auto transmission, just not the engine (I have a Muncie M-20 in it now)
Thanks for the info. I am pleased that I found one and at $450. Now when I get it done up, I won't be to cheap with getting it done right.

Lol I got a 68 YT block as well got it same place same as I got the WZ. As stated if you have say a 67 firebird 4 speed convertible then it would be worth it if your just building a car then maybe the price is steep. All depends the route your going. I'd gladly pay that for a 69 YW block if I could find one.
I have a built 67 yt engine with , #s carb and 670 heads. I have a #s matching 400 conv a/c rust bucket. the drive train only has 12,000 mile since professional rebuild on all components. th400, safe-t-track rear, yt 400 and I recently had the 670 heads reworked for instalation in another conv, but I'm selling out.
