Just purchased a repop bracket for the car yesterday from a local musclecar supplier.I drove two hours one way for some parts and got home and thought this looked wrong for the car and don't want to do another 4 hour round trip. I've seen them online and in catalogues and they looked different.I checked the yearone site and the picture of their 69' bracket looks like the one i bought and the 67/68 looks different.I contacted the place i bought it from and they told me it would work for my 68' What do you think? i personally like the fact the top of the bracket for a 68' is bolted to the lower valance as well as having the metal behind the plate to help support the plate. I have asked them if they have the "correct" one to send it to me and i'll send this one back.I just received a reply stating they supply all the major u.s. parts houses and was told the yearone catalogues are marked wrong and to check ames and PY.I trust these guys and their knowledge of the cars but it just looks like the other one will support the plate much better and makes more sense that it has the upper mounting portion on it for the valance and this one i bought does not.Have a look and let me know what you think. Thanks
David

Kel, I never had one on my bird since i've owned the car, this is my dilemna. I have checked Ames and PY and they show this one as a 67/68. Thanks for the extra confirmation, i didn't want to second guess their word but had to confirm.

David, Here's mine. Looks just like the one you have. Just add a couple of those generally avail plastic license plate nuts to it and turn it over. Jim
Thanks for the additional confirmation and pic Jim. So whats the deal then with the hole up on the top of the valance?

I just ordered a bracket from Classic Industries (part #k88651) last month for my 68 and it looks just like that. I was expecting something a little different also
Seems like i got the right one I like the 69's bracket better. I think what was mentioned on another post of mine is correct about the top hole being there in the valance for a 67/68 Camaro bracket. Thanks for the help all.

For anyone who has intalled a front plate bracket, did you have to drill through the valence panel to intall? I am considering adding one to my '69 convertible but do not have mounting holes in the right location.
