Anybody have a 389 in their 67 or 68 and put headers on it? Not sure if I should buy 68 firebird headers or 65 gto headers. Instinct says 65 gto headers but I don't know if they will clear the Firebirds frame. Any input would be great!
Sure. All the D port heads are the same where the headers bolt up. The headers won't know what year the engine is. BTW, I'm running a 65 YS code 389 in my 67 (but with 67 heads)
FYI - 1968 firebird headers did the trick with some denting from a hammer. They wouldn't clear the steering box on the driver side and then the same issue with the oil filter housing. i also had to extend my gauge sensor with some brass pipe and a 90 elbow. they are on and sound great. thanks for the help!
