Wants $43k for it. He's a member over on PY. Has owned the car less than a year.

Ahhh, that's why. Still though- someone should be checking that out- that's about what it is worth. Remember that blue one that sold in Chicago last year, seller claimed it was pretty much original? He detailed the motor and such and had some new stickers put on the motor and trunk. It brought 42 or 43.

That looks like a really nice car. I too think it was a steal at that price. Congratulations to the new proud owner.

Good point Harold regarding the Reserve Not Met. Banshee, did your friend Pete get a chance to up the offer or how was he able to acquire?? ePay is not very communication friendly but if the seller is the guy in the magazine article (Mike something or another in Ohio) the internet is a good tool to find/contact someone.

Seller had an ad on PY. I think his name is Fred. He bought the car from tbe Owner listed in the magazine article.
He bought it less than a year ago.

Ahhhh.... Didn't see that one on PY but don't check too often. Wanted to put "Flip" on the a personalized license plate for the 68 as a joke (ended up with collector plates), but it looks like this is one of those that doesn't involve a gesture with the middle digit of ones hand (....the joke....). smile

Pete lives half hour from the seller.

Ebay ad does say reserve was not met....true. Seller chose to end the listing and sell it for an agreed price.

Story goes...

Seller purchased vehicle less than a year ago. When seller registered the vehicle, I suppose he reported the price of vehicle for tax purposes, it was stated to me that it was in the $5-7k range...thus saving whatever state/local taxes with the remaining 30k .

When financing was secured by my friend, the bank/credit union had issue with the discrepancy in price ($5-7k versus $37k) and therefore, car was not purchased.

Thus...relisted for the third time//
