I didn't have much when I bought my Bird back in 1991, it was all in boxes, I used both the 1967 service manual and Firebird supplement and the Chilton repair and Fisher Body manual. Now Wow there is so much out there, I use Vicki's site alot and here the old posts help too.

Here's another one: http://tpocr.com/

It really depends on what you want out of your restoration. There are no specific Firebird resto books out there that I'm aware off, and the Camaro and a couple of others I looked at are IMO very vague and not very precise in the work described.

The best and NUMBER ONE advise I can give you is:
Do not finish-paint all your body panels individually off the car and then assemble and align.
Paint the backsides and even a coat of primer on front, but finish everything in one shot after you're happy with all your gaps and alignments. If it's not painted you can pry, hammer, shim, drop a wrench, rub you belt buggle, set a beer bottle on it etc. and it won't hurt a [censored] thing .

Everything else was a combination of service manual, this site, and other sites when finishing mine. Hope this helps.

Since you have a '69, I would get a copy of the '68 Firebird Factory Assembly Manual from E-bay.

Not the most legible documents out there, but better than nothing. Shows you how they put the car together at the factory.

2012 Mustang Boss 302 #1918, Competition Orange. FGF replacement
2006 Mustang V6 Pony, Vista Blue. Factory ordered.
2019 BMW X3 (Titled to the wife, but I'm always driving it for her. So I'm claiming it)
Old projects, gone but not forgotten:
1967 FB 400, original CA car. After 22 years of work, trashed by the guy who was supposed to paint it. I had to sell it.
1980 Turbo Trans Am
1970 Mustang fastback, 351C 4Bbl, auto
1988 Mustang GT, 5 speed
1983 F-150 4x4, built 302
1994 Chevy K2500 HD 4x4, 454 TBI

I have a 69 Assembly Manual. Is the 68 better than the 69 manual?

I believe it's printed a bit better. Unfortuately, '67 & '68's are much more compatable with each other than '69's so it's probably won't help you out that much more.
