There's a guy on PY forums(performanceyears. com) go's by the handle "Trulyvintage" that transports(enclosed trailer) cross country(lower 48) for $1.00 a mile. If he has to go pickup unloaded, same charge applies.
But you can wait till he takes one out that way, hard deal to beat

I made the poor choice to request a quote from one of the companies online. Within 1 min, my phone was ringing off the hook and I got (no joke) 15 emails from different people. Holy crap! overwhelming

Yes, avoid those guys, I had typed a message several hours ago that I forgot to post saying exactly that. FWIW, you can probably go with an open carrier and save several hundred dollars.

There was a good website, transportreviews.com that will identify good companies to use. I ended up using Reliable to get my Firebird from OH to TX. It cost me about $1200 for an enclosed trailer. I will use them again when I bring my convertible from Chris' shop in Mason next year(after POCI and Trans Am Nationals).

It costs 3 more to ship 7 to 10 days lead time versus 4 plus weeks.

Had estimates of $550 to $800 to ship 650 miles with a 3 to 4 week ship request. Was $1600 to 2000 with a 3 to 10 day request.

This info valid as of late June early July 14.

Also...transport carriers at a premium due to cold severe weather this past year...inability to ship. Costs increased significantly.

Rule number 1...get a Google number assigned to your phone and use that...secondly..use an email you rarely use. They will cease calling if you answer and say you've already secured transport.

Try Angles Auto Transport. They are a broker, but they know the drivers and get things done!
