As mentioned in earlier thread, in the process of doing the water pump divider plate mod for better cooling efficiency. I'm replacing the pump (got the cast impeller 11 bolt to replace the existing) and getting a stainless steel divider plate. I know there are 2 seals (1 between the divider plate and pump, 1 between the divide plate and timing cover. Questions: Any recommended RTV that I use? Should the RTV be on both sides of the 2 seals (seal at divider plate and pump would have sealant on both divider plate side and pump side; seal at divider plate and timing cover would have sealant on both divider plate side and timing cover side). My concern is putting sealant on the timing cover and pump for fear of the sealant getting into the system if I get too liberal with the application. As always, thanks for the help!
There are 2 rubber seals that go in the sleeves between the divider plate and timing cover. No silly cone used there. There are 2 gaskets, one between the divider and timing cover and one between divider and water pump. I typically smear some ultra RTV on the timing cover before installing gasket. Follow the instructions on this forum for the clearance of the water pump impeller and divider plate.

And I assume you smear some of the RTV on the pump mounting surface and divider plate surfaces, correct?
Thanks for the guidance on the sleeves and the forum instructions on the divider plate clearance to the impeller. I did see that and I have been following up to this point.
