I want to go ahead and convert to disc front....after reading all the threads and doing internet searches does anyone know for sure if my stock 14" rally II wheels will work with the conversion? The research I found...some say No have to upgrade to 15"...some say yes but some grinding required.
Also, there must be 15 different conversion kits available....which is a popular and recommended one?
Finally do i have to get a booster? I found only one kit that didn't have the booster so whats the story on booster's?
I'm not a brake guy and this is easily confusing me.......would ya'll mind checking out this kit and letting me know if it would work.
Keene, NH(where that kit is being sold) is where Ames Performance Parts is located. It isn't a tiny town, but it isn't that big either and I would suspect there is a relationship there somehow.
The Right Stuff detailing does list a brake kit specifically for 14" wheels.

I bought slotted rotors for my wifes Tahoe and when it came time to redo the brakes I was told by the shop that the slotted rotors could not be turned on a normal brake lathe. I had to buy new rotors again which sucks because they don't charge me to turn them. Neill
slotted rotors do not give and real advantage on a regular everyday vehicle or bird for that matter unless you are on a road corse riding the brakes the whole time. save your $$$ I have turned slotted rotors before with no problems, just dont take a to deep of a cut and do a few cuts at a time and dont forget to finish with a fine cut. its just the marketing they want you to buy new rotors.
Great topic. I've been lurking around trying to figure out a decent kit to get and this one looks a hell of a lot easier than installing new spindles and removing coil springs.
One question though. The Right Stuff Kit offerred through summit states it has a booster and master cylinder, but the installation directions don't mention the master cylinder /booster install. Are the master cylinder/booster instructions included? I'm going from 4 wheel manual drums to the power disc conversion. Anything special I need to know about changing to a vaccuum assisted brake set up?
Make sure the rod to the power booster goes to the lower hole on the brake pedal and you have that adjusted properly. Also need to make sure the brake light switch is adjusted properly when all is done.

Thanks I'll keep that in mind. Appreciate the help!
If you have time some pictures would be awesome. If not, I'm hoping I can figure it out. Going to give Detailing a call to see what brake lines to order since I'm converting from manual to power. Make sure I get the proper pre-bent ones. Might as well change everything out while I'm at it.
I put Inline tubes single piston disc kits on my car with JC Rally’s. They fit but I had to grind a small amount off the brackets. , not structural though. The kit is based on the 69 and up GM single discs. I like them so much bought them for my GTO.
