Hello. I'm new here. I'm in need of some info. I recently got my 2nd first gen this ones a 68 and am working on restoring it and I wanted to ask and see if anyone has seen this or has one or has info on this 68 bird I got the vin shows it's a v8 but in the glove box it has a sticker saying " 8 cyl eng & sprint " so I guess they special ordered a sprint car with a v8. Is this rare to see ? I tryed googling and couldn't fined any info on sprint car with a v8 for factory . it's not matching numbers maybe the Trans but not the motor I don't think it had a pontiac 350 motor I pulled that and putting a 400 in it . It's auto Trans 350 I believe . I have a pic of the sticker but don't know how and where to post it in this post. . Any info would be awesome. Thanks. Drew.
the sticker in the glove box is not a vin or such, it refers to something else ,cannot recall right now (I sold my car 1.5yrs ago) but it may be for tire pressure or something...and just says there is something identical for 8 cyl engine & Sprint...no sprints came w V8s. Maybe someone else can chime in...but it would be nice if you coulod take a photo of said sticker
If your tranny is truely a TH 350, then it ain't numbers matching either. GM did not put that tranny in Firebird's unitl 1969. '68 350 cars got Pontiac's version of the 2-speed Powerglide from the factory.

I think all the parts houses have them, it's one of the older repops. From what I know, all the 1967-1969's had a tire pressure sticker on the inside of the glove box door. On the 1969's, it goes into the center of the three recessed "cup holder" depressions.
This is the 1967 version, from Ames Perf (their watermark is in the background).
Right on thanks guys . Yeah I found out it's just a info on sticker apply to all v8 and sprint. Just checking because the guy I got the car from said it was a sprint ordered with a v8 because of that decal. But the vin tells me it's a v8 car. Thanks a lot of your info . I'm sure I'll be back for more as I'm trying to reassembly a car I never took apart
There are a lot of interesting stories told by those selling cars, either intentional lies or well meaning passing along previous BS. You can't get much past this group when it comes to FGF's.
