Does the direction matter of the lower control arm bolts. I have aparts car that have head out both front and rear, and driver that have head out on front and nut out on rear. I know that there is a shoulder but what purpose does it serve. What is Ft lbs for nuts.
i'm sure it might matter to a concourse judge which way the bolts go in. i put them in from the front because i dont feel like fishing the nut out from the frame if i drop it. couldn't tell you which way they went originally.
Per 67 firebird shop manual supplement, 80 ft-lbs on the nuts. The "correct" way is to have the front nut forward and the rear nut backwards. That seems to be the easiest way to reach the nuts. Like Six says, it probably doesn't really matter which way they go.
I followed the '67 Camaro Assembly Manual. I know it is nut forward for the front bolts and I think nut rearward for the back.

Just remember that if you've got V8 mounts, the L-bracket attaches to the K-frame using the rear control arm bolt. That means you should have the nut toward the rear.
