Hello, all! I'm putting my '68 back together and have decided it's not possible to reinstall the rear seat bottom. I've taken out the front seats to get some leverage, but am still a good inch short of the clips despite pushing with all my might. Any suggestions other than duck if you have to hit the brakes? Thanks!
1. Use two hands to lift seat out 2. Lift it slightly up then push seat forward (towards the trunk) 3. Then pull up and the seat should come out of the slot.

Its really difficult to push or pull the seat to engage or disengage from the clip. Since you have the front seat out, try using your feet to push the seat towards the trunk then down towards to clip.
It can be a feat of strength. If it's too much, bribing a studly neighbor or relative can be helpful. Beer can be a good bribe, but only after the work is done!

Thanks, everyone! I'll give it another go with my feet tomorrow. I've tried using a nail puller with the frame in the slot but couldn't get enough leverage with my hands. I'll see if I can get my foot on the curved end of the puller and push harder.
