Although I am still (causally) looking for my Friebird...I have another old car that came with Michelin Redline Tires. I have very expensive 'regular' Blackwalls on the car now and always wondered about painting Redlines on them. I have heard/read about people having decent success at it, but thought I'd check in here. Sure, there are so companies that sell Redlines. Coker, DiamondBack (maybe others as well). Not sure how performance rated those tires are - if they are good then my next set will be one of those. But in the meanwhile, I'd like to explore converting mine. Being a causal driving car, it will take a while to burn through these tires.
Any tips, advice, literature/instructions? What paint to use, how well it holds up, etc. I heard about SEM paint (I believe it flexes better). thanks!
