I have everything off the subframe except the transmission and I don't really have an easy way to take the transmission out at the moment. In hindsight, I should have pulled the tranny when I pulled the engine... Was not planning on going through front end, but started in on it and kept going further and further...

I was thinking about just supporting the tranny and dropping the subframe, but I've never done that before. Seems problematic to get the subframe lined back up unless I actually pull the tranny too...

Support it with like a roller jack of some sort and use some blocks to support sub frame and pull the sub frame bolts and you should be able to roll it out as long as you still have wheels on the sub frame.

Put a ratcheting strap from frame rail to frame rail under the transmission. Has worked for me in the past.

I have it strung up by a ratcheting strap right now :-). Was just trying to see if there was an easy way to drop the subframe w/o dropping the Tranny.

Not sure if this helps ... I pulled the engine, tranny and front frame at once.

It's held up with just the rear mount now ... close to nothing holding it and your wondering if you can leave on the body and take the frame off.

thanks. I was pretty much assuming there was no way to do it, at least I couldn't figure one out.

Wheels aren't on the subframe at the moment. Just one of those things where I kept finding more issues in the front-end until I was suddenly down to the subframe with my tranny still attached. Live and learn.

I hear you ... I really enjoy the project start & tear down. My wife likes the big finish!

Update. After lifting one side to replace the bushings, I found one of my mounts was bad.

So long and short, I built the equivalent of a little bridge to hold up the body and tranny to slip the subframe out...
