Weighing my options for my hood tachometer. The one on the car that I assume is original, but there are no guarantees, basically crumbled apart when I removed it to inspect it. Would like to at least temporarily replace it for this summers driving so trying to find working used or who has the best repro
Restored by me. Not a professional. Restaurant worker by trade. YouTube forums and some trial and error built this beauty. Sheet metal replacement. Body work. Paint. Rear gears. Interior. And engine. ALL ME. Toot toot
I purchased a couple from Classic (with their 20% off sale) and have been happy with both.

I too recently purchased a repo tach from The Parts Place however mine was for a '67. Actually, better quality than I expected. If you are running an aftermarket ignition you will also need to use a tach adapter. I used an MSD 8920 Tach Adapter with my MSD ignition. Works great.
Anyone know the original GM 67-69 part numbers? When I bought the 67 years ago, the tach was not on the car. The owner said one night someone tried to pry if off, but his dog scared them off. He removed and put it in the house. Not sure its actually from the car. He had 2 the same color, but said this one was from that car. He also had a 68, but I didn't know about the height difference back then. Never thought about be till get'n ready to restore the car after years of abuse and rust. It needs a new lens and seal, etc. If not the correct type, will just buy a replacement.
