I had my hinges rebuilt last year by Wilson at Hood Hinge Repair and they worked well most of the summer, then started to droop. Bought a couple 1970 springs and they did not hold as well as the new springs supplied by Hood Hinge Repair. Just got a couple of the 240 springs and they hold well. We'll see if this fix lasts. I will say I liked the rebuild Hood Hinge Repair did, very nice work and the hinges are very tight.

I got me a set from ebay this week and they installed in minutes. I did not have much sag but the hood perked right up.
might be the same I got on my first go around...they worked , but just for a very short time , like 6 months, then sagging...I re installed originals and added the Volvo inner springs , worked better

That is what I was referring to. I got the Volvo inner springs from ebay.
I'm due for a set of new ones. With the TA springs, does the hood also lift easier? And since the original Firebird springs part #3848272 was considered a "heavy duty" spring, I'm wondering if I replace my old ones, would I have better luck with staying with the original style or the T/A style?
