Ok, So getting really close to getting the car up and going for this year.... I have a three year resto plan but in the mean time I can still drive and enjoy car.
I am planning on eventually doing Hood tach (when I do repaint) and adding the rally cluster gauges so I have a factory look with the temp, volts, pressure,

Before I do that I think I want to add inexpensive gauges so I can still monitor all this... I want something that more subtle and does not permanently attach etc... cause I plan on keeping a pretty original look in the long run.

Any recommendations??

I'm thinking for the tach just a small gauge with column clamp of some sort...

I have a bunch of aftermarket gauges I pulled out of a '68 a few years back, They look like new, but I don't have any information on them as far as hooking them up or anything. I may still have the three hole mounting plate they were in as well.

You can have them for $5 shipping if they are of use.

I used to be indecisive. Now I'm not sure.
I feel like I am diagonally parked in a parallel universe.

I just bought an Auto Gauge #2302 3 3/4" tach, with a built in shift-light, for my '68 Bracket Bird. Haven't got to race it yet. But the guy who is working on the car for me, says that he has used and installed several. He likes 'em.

Of, course, if you don't want a shiftlight, there are several cheaper options. And you can get white face, black face, and several different sizes. Back in the old days, we just strapped 'em to the column and put our shift point straight up. When the needle got straight up, SHIFT ! It worked for us--won lots of races. smile

Most of the time, an Ebay seller will have the best price on tachs. So, I always find the part number of the part I want, then Google for the best price.

For example: This Sunpro CP7901 tach is only $30 shipped, on Ebay. smile
