I know this has come up before, but I have been away from the site for 4 years. I have a 67, 400, 4sp, some what original, has PHS doc. I have deluxe int. but standard belts, which is legit. My question is about the button, has anyone figure out what is correct for 67? Mine has the GM, but have heard it should be the coach. Could it be different from factory to factory.

68tpls400, Thanks for the reply. You say the GM sticker started in 68. Mine is a April build 67, number matching car with the original standard belts, but with custom turq. interior and mine belts have the GM sticker on the buckle. So what says it's always the coach. Mine belts are the matching turq with green plastic buckle, the labels on the belts are 1967. I'm not saying you are wrong, but where is this defined as you say.
Model year '67 had the coach. I guess you can look in the sales manual. My '67 was a second week of July '67 build and had the coach on the belts as well.
I doubt you will find documented proof anywhere, but I have never seen anything different.
'68 model year also came with turquoise interior, so likely swapped at some point.
But feel free to disagree... I'd be the last person to say I'm the expert.
If they look nice in the car, leave 'em in.

OK, I hear what you are saying. But mine do have the 1967 date on the seat belt label stitched onto the belts, not 1968. I guess maybe at sometime some one could have replaced the stickers with the GM ones. I'm asking only because I'm replacing the plastic covers and have read that they should be the "coach", but trying to understand where that came from, because mine are not. I don't know if car being first week of April build is considered early, it is a pretty correct car with even the 4 piston brakes.
Ok, hold on, I see where the train left the tracks... when I read your post the first time, the word "deluxe" jumped out at me. But I now see you say you have 'standard' seatbelts. The 'standard' belts for '67 do have the GM sticker on them. It's the '67 'deluxe' belts that have coach on them.
Clear as mud?
I attached a picture of a '67 standard belt with the GM sticker, and a picture of a '67 deluxe with coach. Sorry for the confusion, must be Monday. (or Friday) ... Wait, what day is it???

I think that was quite common back then. Everyone makes the same assumption with 'deluxe' steering wheels.
Just think back then you had what seemed like 100 'options' for each car.
Now you are lucky to have one or two per model.

Great!!!!! Now we are ALL on the same page. Great info for. I thought my car was pretty correct, but kept reading about the coach sticker. I can't thank you enough. This is COOL. This should be added on the F.A.Q. under "seat belts".
One more question, and this one is easy. Because I have had my rear belts out for few years I have forgotten where to install them. I think the buckles go in the middle and the flat blades on the ends, just like in the front, correct? I have only 2 belts, right and left.

Thanks, Art
That's how mine were, although I don't know if they were ever out of the car before I bought it.

Red interiors always seemed to be the exception to the rule. I have seen both red and black belts in '67-'68 cars.
