Hi,

I Just finished rebuilding my 1968 Firebird 400 motor. The carburetor that came with the car is a Rochester Quadrajet but it a Chevy carb. It has the inlet fuel port facing 90 degrees. The model number shows it to be from a '71 Chevy truck with a 350 motor.

I am looking for a Rochester Quadrajet carb for a Pontiac with the fuel inlet facing forward. My Bird has a manual transmission so a carb setup for a manual would be perfect. If anyone has a Qjet for a Firebird please let me know.

I have a rebuilt Rochester...very good to excellent..was used on my 400 Pontiac 4 speed while my original was rebuilt...only used for a few months.

It is a front inlet and it's a 70 Buick carb...but set up and calibrated for an 068 grind 400 Pontiac with 9.8 to 1 compression.

I do have a 68 Firebird manual HO carb 7028271 rebuilt and recolored...professionally and wet flow tested...never been run. Paid $1800 for the carb and rebuild... $1500

Is it 67/68 dated 7028276 or a service replacement/off shelf 7028276 carb produced from 1969 to 78?

If it's a 67/68 base plate dated original...and he passes..I may have a friend in Ohio interested.

I thought the 7028270 was the Ram Air II Auto carb? With the 7028276 being the Ram Air I Auto carb. I sure as heck hope so, otherwise I bought the wrong carb from Cliff...

7028270 was a RA II carb for 68 and very early 69 RA III.
