Hello guys. As you guys may know I'm working on a 69 bird. I know somewhere down the road ill need to change the oil pan on the 350. That is the motor that was in my custom s and is now in the bird. Sometime in the early eighties I hit a raised man hole cover with the drain plug. I had it braised and leaked slightly. Through the years My question is. Are all oil pans on 350's the same? Do i need a pontiac motor pan?
Thanks. Bill v

I need help, if anyone see's I'm going down the wrong road--Straighten me out!
Gotta be Pontiac. All Pontiac oil pans are dimensionally the same. There are some differences with baffling and maybe some other subtle differences but in general they are interchangeable
Thank you Bob. I just don't know all these things. So, I'll keep an eye out for a used one but, as I was poking around I saw what I thought was new pans for these motors, does that sound right??
Thanks Bill V

There are differences in the location of the drain plug. It's been a long time, so I don't know if they still sell them but, I bought a replacement from PAW. Check this thread: https://firstgenfirebird.org/forums/ubbth...64398#Post64398

Thanks mushroom. It has a center up front location
I hit that manhole cover in Trenton nj. Is the late seventies not the early eighties.
It would probably be best to get an original if possible, right?
We had little money and were young and dumb. I should have at min pulled the pan off the bird engine. If i could only go back and keep the bird motor and the custom s. What dummies😣
Thanks for the help. Bill v
