My 69 bird sits mocking me in the garage. The sub-frame is on, the motor (untested after rebuild) is in.

I'm obviously interested in getting the motor turning, but I'm struggling with the order on which to proceed. Some random thoughts:

* My inner fenders are out. Should I install them before anything else?
* Brakes before getting motor spinning?

I'll attach a quick picture so you can see where things stand. Any advice on "what the hell you'd do next" is really, really appreciated.

While the fenders are off hook up everything you can on the engine. Attach the inner wheel wells to the fenders and mount those on the car. Should also have the radiator support 8n by then.

Interesting! So mount the inner fenders to the fenders and then attach as one? I shall try that, thanks!

Forgot to say you should check the 2 lower body bolt locations on the lower cowl area before you mount the fenders. It's easier to dig out the common broken off stud in the one hole and put a new nut clip in the other when the fenders are off.
I also run a tap to clean up the threads on the other holes on the firewall, door jam and top of cowl. Makes life easier when bolting fenders on.

Way easier to get the motor started now with nothing else in the way.
