I have few questions on my 455 I hope to install in a few weeks.
The motor is bored 30 over I am running a Summit Cam Intake 224 and Exhaust 234 @ Duration 050 I have an electronic ignition from a donor car. Stock intake with a stock 4-barrel and 6X4 heads. Later I plan on a set of headers. This is a 4-speed car.
1. Which spark plugs do I need?
2. There are two types of oil filter housings one straight and one slanted. If I run headers which oil pump will work best?
3. I just ordered the pilot bushing. Napa is charging $25.00 they said it is not a bushing but a bearing that is why it cost so much is this correct?
Once again thanks for the help some day soon the 350 will be replaced
1) Use the application for the heads. Like 79 TA. 2) Most headers are made to fit the 90 degree oil filter. 3) Bushing is standard, bearing is high performance?
1) Autolite 666 (I'll never forget that part number)
2) Like the rest said, whichever gives the best fit
3) The bearing has less friction. But, I've heard the bushing actually holds up better for "hard" driving. A friend used the bearing behind a stout 455, and it didn't last very long.
