If I hit just the right dip in the road I would hear a scraping noise and from visual inspection under the car I have found nothing, thought maybe exhaust was sagging. Yesterday I noticed obvious rubbing on outside of passenger side tire from wheel well.
I did recently put some summertime rims on they are what I thought was close to stock (cragar 14x7 with 3.75" back space) the tires are 205 70 14. Just seems to rub more and more often. Driver side will rub occasionaly
Question is why now? Is backspacing wrong? Maybe suspension? Any Ideas?

Had the same problem with my 255/60 tires in rear on stock Rallys.
Rubs on outer lip...over time, outer lip deforms, catches more and causes more damage. Guess you could get a smaller tire or different backspacing...I had, at the time, new leaf springs and KYB shocks, so that wasn't an issue. Check to see if the axle stops/bumpers are there above axle tubes.
Or install some George Barris custom rear wheel flares...

I think "from" meant "front". I've got repop 15X7 RII's and 215 65 tires and I get the same passenger side rub when I have a passenger and hit a big bump. There's a lump in the wheel well that I think is the problem. Your tire looks pretty close in the pic. Those tires look bigger than 205 70 14's. Maybe it is just too much back spacing.
I measured stock rim now that it is off, almost 4.5" of back space. So the new 3.75" is not sucking it deep enough into wheel well. I went to tire store he told me to try 14x6 wheel. I am not a tire guy but he says that should take care of problem. To me it seems that the narrower rim will make the tire taller and only suck it in 1/2". Guess I will have to trust the pro. New wheels will be here by the weekend to find out. Luckily I just bought cheap wheels so for $60 a wheel I will take a shot. If that doesn't do it I will try some 60 series tires

Well I bought the smaller rims and as I expected the "tire pro" was no pro. I knew that would not change the over all height and with only a gain of 1/4" of back space I still rub.
I did see that my bumpstop is shot, missing about 1/2" of the top so I will replace. I also measured wheel well height from ground up and passenger side sits about 1" lower that driver so guessing spring sag
