Hey everybody, I'm new here. Just bought my first classic car a few weeks ago (Black on black 67 Firebird coup with a 400) and it's in perfect condition. Paint could use some fixing but other than it looks like a 4 year old car. The other day the Georgia heat melted the glue that seemed to be holding one of the trunk letters to the trunk. I guess the nut dropped out at some point and it was hanging on by a thread. I've since taken it off so I don't lose it but now the back of my car says "PON IAC" and my friends have jokes for days!
So far I've searched Firebird Central, Year One and NPD, but I have had no luck finding the little nuts I need for this. What should I be looking for and does anybody know where I can pick up one or more of these to make my Pontiac lettering whole again?
You are looking for PAL nuts. You can find them on eBay or if you have a northwest hardware I found some there. I may even have some extras if you need one but would have to look.
You could rearrange the letters for fun...I did so with a Camaro trunk lid back in 2000 and drove it around...Took hours to space out the letters and drill.
Got some unwanted attention.
Spelled ANTICOP.
