Hey folks, been driving the car a lot since getting the motor back in and am trying to fix some of the relatively smaller issues I have always had with the car.
1st issue) The POA update valve is only getting 8 volts. I changed it from the original POA valve 8 years ago when a shop said it was bad, but it didn't fix the issue of the compressor staying on w/blower on high. Back then it would come on, but not if the blower was on high, now it won't come on at all. Power stops at the POA valve, r134a pressure is ok and no leaks according to the mechanic who charged the system after the motor went back in, it took 2 lbs of freon, which seems a little low but the A/C guy said when he jumpered the compressor it blew cold w/no issues. Anyone have a similar issue that could recommend a place to look? I bought a new A/C harness from M&H and would like to put it in, but maybe it is something else anyway.
2nd issue) the rear cocktail shakers were gone when I bought the car...its a 67 400 vert...delivered 3rd week may 1967. I heard there are two kinds of shakers, how do I know which kind I need? Anyone have a pair to sell?
Here are pictures to what your rear cocktail shakers will look like. Your rear are like the Camaro. Two bolts on bottom and one on side toward rear of car.
The 68 cocktail share had two bolts on bottom and two on top.
This link shows the difference between the 67 and 68 fronts and backs.
From your description of the A/C issue, it sounds like you have a control problem in the A/C controller, maybe a short in the blower switch or circuit.
As far as the cocktail shakers, the only difference I know of is that all 3 years are are NOT interchangeable...don't know of any mid-year design changes.
