This is a terrible first post to have to make. I purchased a 68 Firebird a few days ago that was restored 10-15 years ago (not bad so far, right?)
A person was kind enough to run into it less than 12 hours later while it was parked in the street. The damage isn't too severe, it will only need a new front fender and bumper.
I'm at a bit of a loss on where to take the car. There are tons of body shops, but finding one that is good at bending bumper brackets on an old car is a bit different. Has anyone on the front range had their classic worked on and have a recommendation?
Well that sucks! I'm not sure if DYI is an option, but bumpers a fairly cheap and you can find a decent fender on ebay and have someone paint it. To take off the old fender and bumper isn't that difficult, just a bid time consuming. No matter who you'll find out there, they most likely mess thing up more than you do. Not a whole lotta folks work on older cars anymore. With the help of folks on here and info posted in the manuals, you can get 'er done! Good luck to ya. Sucks you have to deal with that. One more thing, Springs and Denver have car shows, maybe you'll get a recommendation there of a good body man.
