My 69 FB with a 455 engine has the PCV valve hanging in a hole in the valley cover. I see I can get a new grommet to fit this hole. The only problem is the car has an Edlebrock manifold that covers much of the area where the PCV valve goes. There is a large hole for access to the PCV valve itself. I'm not sure I'll be able to get the grommet through that hole. I hope I don't have to pull the manifold to get enough room. Has anyone else dealt with this problem? Thanks, Doug
Can you slip it between port runner and water x-over, then slide/maneuver into position? Then try and work into hole with a couple screw drivers. If not. know what you have to do...
I solved the problem without removing the intake manifold. The repro grommets wouldn't fit. I tried with a long 3/8 extension in the grommet to guide it and then put a piece of 1/2" pvc pipe around it to drive it in and used thin screw drivers at the edge. Just wouldn't seat. So I took an original grommet out of a spare engine. Used the PVC valve and a length of hose to guide it and the used the pvc pipe over that to drive it home. It worked! When I compared the used grommet to the repro they were obviously different. However the repro grommet did seat in the spare engine which had factory manifold on it giving me more room to work. Thought I'd pass it on as removing an intake isn't all that much fun. Doug
