I have same question. I removed my windshield over the winter and took all the old clips off. I don't remember how they were installed. I got the bottom clips on, but on the sides and top could someone describe how they slide over the studs? And speaking of the studs, I bought those as well and they are to small for the holes that are there, so now what?
They slide over with the back of the c shape against the metal. Look closely at the clips and your trim and it will become evident how they fit. When the holes are oversized I just move them over a bit and drill a hole for a sheet metal screw with a hex head to hold it instead of the stud. Be careful to get the heighth right so the trim reveal is uniform. Jim
On my 68' convertible they are all screwed (philips head screws) in on the sides and top (outer pillar posts have small bolts).I "believe" the coupes used the studs.I took some pics of them for your reference but my batteries died. When they are recharged i'll post some pics for you if needed.

If you could post some pics that would be great. Another question: what order does one put all the trim back together? Does any of the trim have to be in place before I put in the new windshield? Like the 2 chrome pillar post pieces, the top chrome header pieces, or the inside pillar post pads, etc? I took everything apart so long ago I can't remember how it all goes back together.
Yes, work yourself from the outside inward.I'll try and get some pics on here for you later today.

Put all your pillar trim on first. Then put on reveal trim clips. Then install windshield. The reason for this order is you don't want to have to put the pillar molding and clip screws in after the windshield is in. You may chip the edge of the glass and have cracks in the future. Jim
Cool. I just have to get the 2 pillar chrome pieces now. My old ones had some dings and scratches (not that bad) so I just ripped them off and bent them all up. Now that I know how much new ones cost I'm kicking myself! DOH!
69FB, sorry so slow but here is a picture if you have not gotten around to installing them yet.
