Hello, I am having some trouble figuring out getting my 1969 firebird interior colors correct. I have the deluxe interior package already installed when I purchased the car. The interior color is blue. My issue is that the colors seem to be slightly different per component. For example the door panels are not the same color as the rear panels. I also ordered a bunch of parts from classic industries and they all seem to be slightly different. My new horn button is a very bright blue which seems to match nothing in the interior. The floor mats I purchased which only had one blue option for the 69's through CI look to be more green than blue. If anyone can help point me in the right direction as to getting the interior colors correct I would really appreciate it. The car was not an originally blue interior car also.
The correct interior color would be id'd on the body tag on the firewall. I believe a "2" would be black i.e. Usually convertible tops, vinyl tops and interior color were all the same color for each car. If you had blue, than all of the mentioned would the same color blue. The color fades and you that might be what you're comparing/seeing. If you ordered all new, than the tone of the blue should be very close, although I'm sure you will see a slight difference between plastic and vinyl components.
If you don't order all of the components from the same supplier at the same time, they will all be off a shade no matter what.
Even blacks don't match.
Most original cars don't match after all of these years either.
I used to be indecisive. Now I'm not sure. After a couple of summers, everything will fade to the same shade.
This was actually mentioned on an episode of Cuban Chrome. They paint their classics outlandish shades of colors because they quickly fade from the tropical sun.

Sorry I walked away from this topic for a bit. I have ordered all parts through classic industries. I am most confused by the floor mat colors as they are almost green and seem don't seem to resemble any of the other interior colors in the slightest. Does anyone remember what the factory vinyl mats looked like, it could be they were just a different shade originally.
Ask Ames' to see a picture of their original repro floormats FA301 in blue. The red version are near perfect match to my originals. (I got from the Pontiac dealer in '69 to add to mine.) https://secure.amesperf.com/qilan/Detail_Web?part_num=FA301BU&order_number_e=Mzg2ODg1Mg%3D%3D%0A&web_access=Y

Ray,
I ordered my whole interior from classic as well, when they had a 25% off. When I got it -the sun visors, rear arm rests, side panel covers and the boot were way off from the door panels and seat covers. I sent them back and requested samples from Legendary for those. They were a perfect match, so the whole thing will be an even color now. Just FYI- classic orders from whoever has the best price when they are ready to stock up. This was for a red interior, not sure if it would work for yours or not.
